The city networks of Örebro and Kumla have chosen Digpro’s DP/Com. “By having a documentation and information system for sales, planning, operations and maintenance of the network, the customers’ requirements of cost effective network connections can be met more efficiently” says Thomas Centerfjäll, network planner at City Network of Örebro.

DP/Com is a Network Information System, NIS, adapted to the documentation, planning and analysis of broadband networks. All information, graphic and attribute data, is managed by a single database management system, and is updated via a web based interface. DP/Com is based on an Oracle Spatial database. The same components used in DP/Com are used in systems delivered to clients such as AB Stokab, Sydkraft, Jönköping Energi, Karlskoga Energi, and Stockholm’s Fire Department.

City Network of Örebro was formed in 09/01/2001. It is owned by Örebro Land (Örebro Mark AB), which is a municipally owned company.
City Network of Örebro’s mission is to build, own and manage a fiber based broadband network that covers the entire county. The network is designed to manage the communication needs for all commercial and residential facilities, Public Works or any other facility in need of broadband.
City Network of Kumla (Stadsnät i Kumla AB)
City Network of Kumla is a municipally owned company that is tasked to manage and develop the municipal’s fiber network.
They are responsible for all current and future operations of the fiber network which is already built throughout most of the county. The construction of the fiber based network in Örebro and Kumla started in back 2001 and will be completed in 2005, reaching all areas of the counties.
Together with an external communications operator, Thalamus Operations AB, the city networks provide commercial and residential facilities different types of broadband services. Örebro and Kumla share a close collaboration when it comes to the management and development of the fiber networks in the counties.
