Stockholm’s Public Works and Building Department Select Digpro’s Gatuinfo Web
 

 

Stockholm’s Public Works and Building Department have chosen an additional upgrade component of Digpro’s Gatuinfo. Gatuinfo is used for the reporting and accounting of planned, in-progress and/or completed Public Works projects throughout the city of Stockholm.

The city of Stockholm’s ever changing demands within departmental planning, and the need for remote access to data inside and outside the city limits, made a web based application the most effective solution.

Examples of Gatuinfo Web functionality:

  • Decentralization of digging permit management of city subdivisions
  • Digital review and coordination of work between divisions and companies
  • Connection to Lokal Vägdatabas (local road database) allowing for the entry and retrieval of information in other applications associated to LV
  • Ability to create extractions, reports, and statistics
  • Ability to continuously send appropriate information to the media
  • Ability to attach pictures and documents to posts
Gatuinfo Web is built on the same concept as the other applications in the DP/Spatial suite. An Oracle Spatial database used for storage of the geographical information is the foundation. Users take advantage of web clients (built as Java applets) to communicate with a web server.

No data or software is stored on the end users’ computers since everything is downloaded and accessed remotely at log-in. This allows for the distribution of the application and data to users inside and outside the organization.

Data from the old Gatuinfo is imported to the system in the beginning stages of the project. Via the webserver, information can be sent to trafiken.nu to give up-to-date data on current digging projects.

Gatuinfo Web also communicates with LV (local road database) to access information from other systems like MUS and LTF. Gatuinfo Web can also enter information in LV.

DP/Spatial is continuously being developed upon, creating new modules for map production, telecom and district heating and being used by numerous municipalities and companies. A module for accommodating Water andWastewater management is currently in development. DP/Spatial is the foundation platform for a number of Digpro’s other applications, including those used by Stockholm’s Fire Department and Building Department.
